Hockey season is here and the playoffs around the corner, people wonder whether the Rangers would be next in line to the Stanley Cup this year. They beat the Islanders, 4-1, and the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Long Island and have earned at least a point in each of the last 11 games (8-0-3). They are only in the sixth place in the Eastern Conference with 79 points, they are only four points away from first place. Brendan Shanahan, who scored at 1:29 of the first period, is pretty sure they get there. Some hockey fans think that the Rangers a good chance with anyone else in the Eastern Conference have.
Chris Drury is one of the best clutch players of his time. With him on the third line of the shot as good as another team. Goalie Henrik Lundqvist not, who was excellent in the first period of the game against the Islanders called. They have some great players to create a strong force.
Some might think that it is better to first place in the conference at the end of the season than the beginning of the season. Avery the goal at 13:25 of the first period proved to be more than the islanders could handle, although he just a wide open net for those missed. A team can not win the Stanley Cup early in the season, but they feel good about the way things turn out. Coash Tom Renney is confident about prospects and feels his team the Rangers will finish on top in the end.
The Rangers' demise that Lundqvist has been inconsistent, they did not defend well enough men and they have their share of bad performance games. Renney believes that his players could try a little harder at times. He says that sometimes when a team does something out of their empire, they leave themselves vulnerable. But he also believes that the Rangers goalie they need to protect them have. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the hockey season pans out.
